$5.00 COMMENTARY ON ROMANS 6.7. & 8:1-14 COMMENTARY ON ROMANS - CHAPTERS 6, 7, through 8:14INTRODUCTION The Romans study you are embarking of contains information that is absolutely essential for every Christian to properly live their lives. The information in these three chapters reveals the knowledge that the Apostle Paul spoke about.
It is this form of doctrine that Paul delivered to the Church of Rome.
It is the "preaching of the cross" that Paul spoke of to the Church in Corinth.
If the modern American church of today were to make a list of popular teaching subjects, the cross is certainly towards the end of the list. The cross comes in far below such hot topics of how Christians can become prosperous and healthy or a discussion group on the latest of the "Left Behind" series. To the church today the cross isn’t merely as appealing as the latest tape set on the "five keys to victory" or "the four steps to freedom" or the latest seminar on "how to fix whatever is wrong with you", using of course the newest innovations in modern Psychology that have bobbed up in the church like a bloated corpse. The very existence of those popular subject teachings are an insult and denial of all that God intended the cross to mean to us. If you mention the subject of the cross to most Christians today they usually feel that they know all about it, but in reality they usually know nothing about the cross as an every day way of life. These three chapters stand between the four gospels and the rest of the New Testament as a precious gem that enables us to appropriate by faith all that Jesus lived and dies for into a daily living reality. As one writer has rightly said, "it is good to think of Romans Chapter 6 as the mechanics of salvation that contain the nuts and bolts information that we need to know to live a victorious Christian life." In Romans Chapter 7 we see Paul’s personal failure from trying to win victory over sin through works and self effort. In Romans Chapter 8 we see the victory through the Holy Spirit that God desires for each and every one of his children. What we share with you in this commentary on these three chapters is not new and has been taught by many that have gone before, however, we do expect our teaching to sound strange to most pastors and teachers today have forsaken the doctrines of the cross for schemes of their own invention that they have found much more to their thinking.
The following pictures are in no way intended to teach the erroneous doctrine of "the two natures of the Christian" as taught by "dispensational" teachers and the "once saved always saved" teachers. (This is the end of the excerpt from the COMMENTARY ON ROMANS) Click here to go back to BOOKS Page
